Zumba Alberto Beto Perez

Alberto "Beto" Perez invented Zumba Fitness.

Zumba was created in the mid 1990s by Columbian Alberto "Beto" Perez, a celebrity fitness trainer and choreographer of international pop stars. Inspired by traditional cumbia, salsa and merengue music with which he grew up, Beto combined his favourite Latin rhythms with red hot international dance steps. And this is how Zumba, which means snake in Spanish, with "quick movements and having fun", saw the light of day.

Zumba Beto

Beto brought Zumba to the US in 1999, where it has become one of the fastest growing dance-based fitness rages. Not only the US but the whole world. People of all ages love Latino music and the easy-to-learn steps.
